It does this so as not to interfere with the vehicle's pneumatic system for brakes and/or suspension. In this unlikely occurrence, the driver is alerted with a series of Red LEDs.   How does the Vigia Tire Guardian Deliver Safety, Economy & Dependability? Safety VIGIA number one purpose is to increase Safety On The Road! It is about 80% effective in preventing tire blowouts. According to the NHTSA, most tire blowouts are caused by tires that are at least 20% under inflated. This small amount of under inflation cannot be detected by kicking or thumping the tire.
