The VIGIA Tire Guardian is the first and most advanced hollow-axle Automatic Tire Pressure System in the world. First Developed in 1975, VIGIA has been used in more than 25 countries throughout Latin America, Canada, Western Europe, Australia and South Africa. Unlike its sister product, the NM143, there is no external arm dropping from the body of the vehicle to support the rotor. Instead, the air lines are run through the axles and out the spindle. Then the rotor is independently mounted to the grease or oil hub and will support one or two hoses to the valve stems. This configuration is what we call our "Internal" Tire-Inflation System. VIGIA Tire Guardian does not pressurize the axle. The air source is drawn from the air supply tank on the vehicle. Lines are run under the chassis and through the axles as described above. Because VIGIA does not pressurize the axle, there are no issues with leakage in or out of the axles or pressurization blowing the seals. The system is self-contained and remains extremely LOW MAINTENANCE! VIGIA NM248 "Internal" system can be installed on almost any trailer, with nearly any axle manufacturer or configuration, even older styles that are only "semi" hollow. We use only high-pressure rated hoses throughout the entire system, ensuring the maximum durability. Our rotor is self-contained and extremely rugged. All VIGIA parts come with a One-year warranty on parts and labor. The NM248 Control Panel can be mounted anywhere on the trailer. Or, it can be mounted under the trailer, if desired, with an independent set of LEDs placed anywhere in the driver's view. The LED indicator lamps tell the driver exactly the status of the tires on the trailer at all times. The VIGIA Tire Guardian allows the owner to set the pressure desired for the tires. When all tires are properly pressurized, the Green LED is displayed. Once a leak develops, the Yellow LED will flash, indicating a leaking tire. If there is a catastrophic loss of air in one or more of the tires, the Red LED will illuminate and the VIGIA system will shut itself down automatically, allowing full use of the vehicle's pneumatic system. This makes it safe to use the brakes and suspension. All VIGIA TIre Guardian Systems use Optoelectronic Sensors and Electric Valves. This ensures the quickest response time to filling a leaking tire with air. As an example, a tire that has lost all of its air, can inflate to 100 psi in less than 8 minutes. A tire that has lost 10 psi will return to its calibrated pressure in less than a minute. The VIGIA Tire Guardian is not the only Tire Inflation system on the market for hollow-axle trailers.
